Writing
I write a little bit of everything including novels, poetry, and essays. A lot of what I do is in women's fiction but I also write magical realism and science fiction. I think story telling and creating a good read are important and I'm willing to write across genres if that's where the ideas are.
At the start of 2020, I completely changed my writing practices. As a result, I completed a novel draft of over 125,000 words in about 5 months. I am currently writing a novel that I expect to finish drafting by fall 2020. I was able to turn my writing practice into a habit and, more so, an enjoyable habit. Now it's something that I look forward to doing and makes each day feel complete. I'm looking forward to sharing what I've learned in case it helps anyone struggling with their own creative process.
About
I’m a poet and writer whose work deals with family relationships, friendships, love, and loss. I’m currently working on a novel in women's fiction. Otherwise, you will find me writing, researching neuroscience, and trying to perfect a reliable pie crust.
I also run a book club. Details of what we read, what we ate, and what we thought can be found here.
